CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA: Today, Republican congressional candidate Madison Cawthorn joined conservative activist and grassroots organizer, Scott Presler, in calling on House Speaker Mike Johnson to bring forward legislation banning Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), warning that the system undermines transparency and erodes voter confidence.
Presler recently challenged House leadership to act, publicly asking Speaker Johnson to consider a House bill banning RCV as the system spreads across cities and states nationwide.
“Scott Presler is saying what millions of grassroots conservatives are thinking,” Cawthorn said. “Ranked Choice Voting is a confusing gimmick designed to manipulate outcomes and weaken the voice of everyday Americans. Speaker Johnson needs to step up and shut it down.”
Cawthorn argued that RCV creates chaos in elections and benefits political insiders. “Americans want simple, honest elections that people can understand,” he said. “When elections turn into multi-round counting games and math tricks, people lose trust. That’s exactly what the radical left wants.”
Presler, a friend of Cawthorn and a leading grassroots conservative voice, has mobilized activists nationwide to oppose Ranked Choice Voting and pressure Republican leaders to act.
“This is about protecting one person, one vote,” Cawthorn added. “Speaker Johnson should introduce legislation to ban Ranked Choice Voting nationwide and make it clear that Republicans stand for election integrity, not election experiments.”
Cawthorn pledged to make election transparency and voter confidence a priority in Congress. “When I get to Washington, I will fight to secure our elections and make sure the rules are clear, fair, and transparent,” he said. “No gimmicks. No games. Just honest elections.”
