CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA: Republican congressional candidate for Florida’s 19th District, Madison Cawthorn, applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for their decisive GOP leadership in passing the SAVE Act. The legislation, which requires proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and showing government-issued picture ID to vote, passed with unanimous Republican support, signaling a unified front against the radical Left’s attempts to allow non-citizens to vote.
“The House has done its job. The GOP stood together to tell the world that American elections belong to American citizens,” Cawthorn said. “This isn’t just a policy win; it’s a declaration that the era of open-border voting is coming to an end.”
Cawthorn is now turning the heat on the U.S. Senate, specifically calling out Senate Republican Leader John Thune to immediately bring the bill to the floor for a vote.
“The House sent a clear message. Now, Senator Thune needs to show the same backbone. There is no excuse to delay this. We need the SAVE Act passed immediately so we can get it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.”
Cawthorn continued, saying “If you need an ID to buy a beer in Naples or board a plane at RSW, you need to prove you’re an American citizen when you go to choose the leader of the most powerful country in the world”.
He pledged that upon his return to Congress, he will be a lead advocate for nationalizing these common-sense security measures to ensure every legal vote counts and every illegal one is discarded.
